Introduction

Legendary animals and always a symbol of the finest arcane magic, phoenixes are one of the most popular magical animals on Eden and have always been the emblem of the magic of the High Elves.

Description

A fire phoenix has an appearance very similar to a diurnal bird of prey, with orange feathers (with precious bluish highlights) and a superb flaming aura that makes them appear like comets in the clear skies in the nights of Eden's Shrine.

Behaviour

Phoenixes live high in the sky, in an almost endless spectacular flight that illuminates the clouds with incredible plays of light and rarely touch the ground during their lifespan.

The fire phoenixes have a good relationship with the Therri'cill and often serve as their messengers. The phoenixes often reside on high mountaintops in the far north, when they feel like their life is coming to an end.

These flaming birds are sharply intelligent and can use telepathy to make people aware of their will.

A phoenix can survive very long without food and can sleep while flying, while they circle Eden in the upper Atmosphere.

Abilities

Flaming Talons: The Fire Phoenix attacks a single target dealing 2d3 damage, setting it on fire (burning effect) for 3 turns.

Sacred Burst: When a Fire Phoenix is reduced to 0 HP, it becomes immune to any damage or status for 1 whole turn. During this turn, the Phoenix closes itself in a cocoon of impenetrable red and blue flames that will melt its whole body, enclosing it inside a metallic egg. At the end of this turn, a giant explosion will deal 3d6 to anyone in a 12m range.

Fire Cloak: any creature within 6m of the phoenix takes 1 fire damage per turn.

Fly: A Phoenix can move twice per turn in the three dimensions, and attack in the same turn.
