Introduction

A frost phoenix is a legendary, mythical arcane creature, less famous than its cousin the fire phoenix, but perhaps more fearsome.

Habitat

The Ancient Northern Mountain Range

Description

The Frost Phoenix is a legendary creature resembling a diurnal bird of prey with deep blue feathers, overgrown with sharp pointed ice.

They have claws at their feet, longer than a fire phoenix's, that use to survive in the frozen desert where they.

Frost Phoenix eggs do not hatch on their own, unlike Fire Phoenix, and instead require artificial intervention.

This is why Frost Phoenixes eggs have always waited entire generations before being found under a thick blanket of snow and taken to a warmer, safer place to hatch.

Behaviour

A frost phoenix sits on high mountaintops or deep snow fields in the far north.

They are always seen alone and never venture further. A frost phoenix is way more intelligent but also more violent and dangerous than its fiery counterpart, the fire phoenix.

Just like a fire phoenix it can: communicate telepathically, sleep while it's flying and effortlessly survive without food for weeks. Frost phoenixes gather their food in the snowy fields in the north where they're easily able to locate worms and other small animals under the thick layer of snow.

Abilities

Freezing Dust: A magical dust infused with Aros magic falls from the Frost Phoenix's wings, dealing 1 frost damage to all creatures within 4m each turn.

Ice Arrows: The Frost Phoenix is capable of solidifying its feathers through Aros magic. The Frost Phoenix will make a ranged attack to everyone in a 2x2 area and deal 1d3+1 damage.

Sacred Burst: When a Frost Phoenix is reduced to 0 HP, it becomes immune to any damage or status for 1 whole turn. During this turn, the Phoenix closes itself in a cocoon of impenetrable deep blue icy waters that slowly solidifies in a metallic solid egg in the course of a turn. At the end of this turn, a giant freezing burst will turn everything in a 6m range into ice. Only a major magical remedy can cure this status.

Fly: A Phoenix can move twice per turn in the three dimensions, and attack in the same turn.
