Said to glow like fireflies at night, the tiny tricksters of Myln Arbor, pixies are mostly harmless creatures that rarely decide to show themselves to the outside world of Eden. Even when unseen, pixies still mess with the outside world of Eden when backs are turned. The size of most of them averages about 15-20 cm, with some of the largest being around 26cm. They resemble more of a bug at birth and are born from flowers and seasonal blooms. They then grow more humanoid features in their adolescence. As they grow older, pixies can take many forms. From butterflies to moths to sometimes mantises, they have a humanoid torso and face while they replace arms with wings, and legs with bug-like characteristics. And depending on the type, some may have antennas. Pixies prefer to hide in places most won’t find them. Inside of trees, up on their branches and sometimes even the bigger mushrooms around the vast forest. They often travel in clusters of three to five at most to prevent someone getting lost, eaten or captured.
Behaviour
Pixies are peaceful creatures, though they do some tricks now and then. If one does ever go into the forest of Myln Arbor and get lost, they can expect that it was the work of pixies, for leading travellers' awry is something they do for fun. Pixies love their homes, often never going too far from their birth flower to begin with, therefore they do much to protect it. In comes the Hathor, whom pixies love, regularly warning them of unwanted visitors in the area. Pixies don’t need to eat, as their bodies carry enough energy for their short lifespan. When they do, they usually go for leaves, flower petals, and maybe even honey if it is available, which bees don’t really seem to mind much. The reason for that is due to the pixies' bond with most of the forest animals.
Abilities
Pixies are passive creatures. They’d rather flee than attack. But if needed, they will kick and scream to alert other pixies, or use their abilities, sending swarms to distract the predator as they fly away. Pixies are great illusionists, able to use their pixie dust to make their targets hallucinate, sometimes even attacking back using their small mouths to bite or the sharp edges of their wings to cut their foes. Ultimately, a pixie is not made for combat but is excellent in escaping.
Drops
- Pixie Wings
- Wings of a pixie creature that were ripped off of a living pixie. They say that it has magical properties, healing wounds when placed on them. Some may even brew it into tea and drink it, healing minor internal wounds or some common illnesses. It tastes like the flower the pixie was born from, depending on your luck.
- Pixie Dust
- The remains of a pixie, as the bodies do not remain after death for more than a few hours. The dust could be sprinkled on a patch of land where a new flower will bloom, with a chance that a new pixie would be born from it. (roll d100, 50+ for a flower to bloom and 80+ for a pixie to be born from it.) Whatever flower grows, it shall remain alive for as long as its roots remain intact. If used on a living creature, it can cause strong hallucinations depending on the dose. (refer to the tables above.)
