Flies fall under the category of two-winged insects. They are relatively small creatures with a body length of about 6 to 8 millimeters. As with other insect species, the body of the fly is divided into 3 parts, namely the head, the thorax and the abdomen. These parts are also divided into smaller parts and have different things attached to them. For example, the part of the head contains most of the senses and parts of the mouth. The middle part, the thorax, has 3 legs on each side and 2 pairs of wings on the back. These pairs consist of 1 small wing and 1 larger wing. They have black skin with very small black hairs. The only exception to this is that they have lighter stripes on the top of the thorax. These longitudinal stripes usually have a gray color that can differ in shades. Another exception to the black color is the reddish-brown eyes, the yellow-brown abdomen and the transparent wings. The eyes are an important landmark on the head. Both eyes are divided into many small eyes. These mini eyes have a hexagonal shape and each have a small lens. The thorax of the fly has 3 parts that have a kind of plate on each side (top, side and bottom) that serves for protection. The abdomen of the fly consists of 4 parts. This contains, among other things, the internal organs. Like most insects, the fly's body is equipped with sensory structures, namely the hairs that are everywhere on the body. The function of these hairs is mainly that they serve as a sense of touch. This means that they use the hairs to feel. In addition to making movement possible, the legs also have a sensory function, namely tasting. This allows the fly to determine whether there is something to eat or not.
Behavior
Flies are generally found everywhere in Eden. In very cold areas, such as Avalheim and the northern mountain ranges, flies are far less common. You would mainly encounter them indoors in these cold areas. Flies often live together with several other species. They reproduce very quickly, so what seems like a small group can quickly grow into a very large group. The fly eggs are laid in manure, dirt, animal carcasses, compost or in rotting food. They pick such things as carcasses, compost and rotting food, because they enjoy the smell of such things. It could be seen as some sort of attraction. The eggs of a fly are very strong, have an elongated shape and a white color. The size of such an egg is approximately 1.2 millimeters. A female can lay up to nine hundred eggs at a time per year. Within a period of 12 to 36 hours, these onions hatch and the larvae, also called maggots, of the flies emerge. In order for the eggs to hatch properly, they must be permanently moist. After these larvae are fully grown, they start the pupation process. During this process, the larvae crawl out of the old skin and clearly change their shape. After this the fly is an adult. The feeding pattern of such an adult fly is quite special. Flies generally eat everything. From animal products, to plant products, to things that are moldy or rotten. A fly's mouth is specially made for sucking.
Actions & Abilities
The fly has feet with a suction cup-like structure on the bottom of the foot. This allows the fly to stick to different types of surfaces. In addition, this leg is equipped with a kind of small hook. The brackets are also used when holding on to objects. When the fly lands on a surface, it immediately knows whether the surface is edible. Because fly legs are so important for tasting, flies clean them regularly.
