A centaur is a creature with a human's upper body and a horse's lower body and legs. They stand around 2.10 meters (7 feet) tall and weigh approximately 950 kilograms (2,100 pounds). While the lower body of the centaur is covered in traditional horsehair, the upper human body of the creature's chest is primarily bald, with horsehair mainly covering the back and arms. Human hair covers the scalp, which is often seen long, resembling the manes of an average horse. Female centaurs called centaurides are not uncommon, having the same bodily treats as their male counterparts.

The creature's lower half houses a complex multistage digestive system that extracts nutrients from tough prairie grasses, plants, and different meats. Their leg bones are relatively thick to balance the weight of their large body. Though, centaurs are wary of falls or injury of their lower "horse" halves.

A close examination of the centaur's face will reveal their ears to be similar to that of a horse. The mouth also sustains all human teeth. Yet centaurs are fitted with four extra strong molars to grind down grasses and plants like the average horse. They are not capable of speech; instead, the mouth is only used to digest foods and inhale oxygen. The internal anatomy is quite different as well. With the stomach, kidneys, liver, and intestines all housed in the lower body, the man-like torso is mainly filled with large lungs and two powerful hearts.

Habitat

Centaurs reside in the Glade of Dragons' forests. But also east of Eden’s Tail mountain range. Since the Rotting Plague, the number of centaurs in the world has drastically decreased, to the point where sightings are extremely rare. Sightings of the creature were rare in general, as they avoided civilization, residing deep in the forests of the Glade of Dragons.

Behaviour

What makes centaurs stand out amongst the populace is that even though they have a human's upper body, they behave more animalistic. They avoid civilization and instead act aggressive towards them, to the point of committing brutal acts to those who do them wrong or enter their territory. These acts have yet to be overlooked and studied.

Centaurs move in small communities called herds, with the strongest and often largest male as their leader. Though animalistic in behaviour similar to that of a horse, their intelligence ranges far higher than any animal in the world. It is speculated that their intelligence is slightly lower in IQ than that of a humanoid race, as they can still craft crude weaponry.

Abilities

Centaurs are capable of many things such as craft and even hunting, using small bows to hunt animals for meat and spears to catch fish. The creature does not communicate with speech, as it is incapable of doing so, and instead communicates among each other like regular horses, producing neighs and stamping with their hooves. The efficient oversized hearts allow centaurs to run for days without end, matching the same speed as the Hadrian horse. The force of a centaurs' punch is enough to break a rib cage. Hence most people choose to stay far away from the majestic creature.
