Frogs are tailless amphibians, which means that they can live in the water, but also on land.

They’re cold-blooded animals with smooth skin. The feeling of the skin of a frog can be described as quite slimy.

One of the reasons frogs are easily distinguishable from other amphibians is their body build. The body of a frog is built like a pear-shaped, quite flatted body with a head that isn’t constricted with the neck and a wide beak. They also come in many different colors, mostly neutral tones.

Because of the fact that frogs are amphibians they can survive in small waters, like lakes or pools. But frogs also have the ability to adjust to other habitats. The only place they can’t live is in the ocean, since the water is way too salt for the frogs. They are mostly found in moist places, like swamps, forests and in the jungle.

Behavior

Frogs need to keep their skin moist, because they breath and drink trough their skin and it being moist makes it easier for the oxygen to come through.

They have lungs so while swimming they are dependent of the extra oxygen which they can absorb through their skin. However they have lymph nodes that help to keep the skin moist. Some species have a summer rest or a hibernation.

Abilities

Frogs are equipped with legs and hips that are specially built for high jumping. The feet also contain flippers between the legs, which makes it easier for the frog to swim.

Another ability the frog has is that he can sort of shoot his tongue far away to grab a prey. The tongue is very sticky and the insect grabbed by it is almost guaranteed to stick to it.
