Description

Deathwalkers are the names of the many undying corpses that make up the many hordes of Sylverix. These shambling horrors were once living creatures of Eseron turned into zombified slaves for their masters. Be it beasts, men, or critters, none are safe from the cold grasp of Alcadizar’s reach once the veil of death has befallen them. These sacks of mindless meat make up the bulk of any undead incursion into the mortal lands, deploying in terrifyingly large numbers in order to completely overwhelm the defending force to make way for the heavier hitters to clear out whoever is left. These creatures, if you can even consider them as much, are kept together by a binding necromantic force that animates their being and makes them mindlessly follow commands with ease. However, the binding is weak and whenever the necromancer is chased away or killed, the horde begins to fall apart as the necromantic magic begins to fade away.

To fight a Deathwalker horde is an uphill battle from the very start, as even though the individual creatures are not difficult to destroy, usually done by simply giving the creatures a crushing blow to their skulls, the hordes are endless and anyone caught by them is consumed by the tide of bodies. Soldiers who have experienced this war of attrition whisper stories around campfires of terrifying encounters in which seemingly slain corpses of fallen comrades rise from underneath their feet like puppets flung by invisible cords, turning to strike at their once brothers and sisters in unlife with mindless fury. Having no sense of self-preservation or fear, they mindlessly throw themselves upon the lines they once hailed from and swore to protect.

Behaviour

Deathwalkers are mindless sacks of flesh that do no more than execute the commands they have been given by their necromantic overlords. Be that fight, construct, or simply stand still and decay. They have no free will and do not act on their own. Simply standing completely still and unaware of their surroundings when sustained but without orders. Usually, they are discarded like trash once the Necromancer has no further use for them, making them drop dead where they stand until they are risen to fight once more.

Abilities

Risen once more: Whenever a deathwalker dies, roll a D6, on a 5+, the slain creature stands right back up with all of its HP.

Strength in numbers: Deathwalkers gain one extra attack per 20 other deathwalkers fighting alongside them in a radius of 30 meters.

Note: All deathwalkers use the FISTS weapon profile when fighting by default. GM's may change this profile based on the variant of deathwalker used.

Drops
