Introduction

Deep within the eastern forest of Myln Arbor you have many creatures, but the Dryads are a quite common species in this magical forest. With their ethereal beauty they guard the forest from any intruders.

Description

A dryad is a forest spirit, often taking the form of a 2-meter tall humanoid, fully made out of wood and moss. Dryads resemble a female most often, however, they can show themselves as males too. They quite resemble Sylvani or Ents in a way but are more spiritual than these creatures. Their eyes can be of any color, however green shades are the most common. They do not have hair but leaves resembling it. They usually wield large wooden staves, using it to call on the powers of nature. They are usually found in the pure wilderness of Myln Arbor, far away from any residences. But there they can be found quite quickly. They are a creature that loves to come together into small groups, near rivers, in caves or around big, magnificent trees. A peaceful and calming aura always surrounds them. When one is around a Dryad, they smell fields of flowers which are in bloom.

Behavior

Dryads are inhabitants of the forest and like to be on their own or with their species. However, they do welcome other inhabitants of the forest, and act friendly towards them. Dryads don't reproduce, as they are spirits in essence. They grow out of the trees which are fueled by the life of Myln Arbor. They are relatively peaceful unless they are threatened or have unwelcome guests. They adore hanging out with ents and other friendly forest creatures, but most of all with their own. Sometimes they will sing beautiful songs when a small group of Dryads have gathered, and the nearby trees will gently dance along.

Habitat

Dryads live in the forest of Myln Arbor. They are most often found near the Amber Tree, but can also be found near ponds or rivers inside Myln Arbor. They do not come close to the towns and cities inside the forest however, preferring to stay away and live in the more peaceful, wilder areas of the forest.

Abilities

At the start of the battle, a Dryad will sing a short song, calling for nearby animals, ents or other dryads to aid them. When a dryad is in melee range it will attempt to use its large wooden stave as a blunt object. This attack however is not quite strong (D3). They can also use their power of nature to heal themselves or others (D2) and use biomancy (Level 1 & 2 spells). A dryad is not immune or resistant to any form of damage.

Drops

Dryad Stave

When a Dryad dies, its body becomes one with the soil underneath, fading. Only its wooden stave will be left behind. This stave is a representation of the Dryad itself, beautiful and covered in leaves and moss.
