Introduction

Elk have thick bodies with slender legs and short tails. They have a shoulder height of 0.75–1.5 m (2 ft 6 in – 4 ft 11 in) with a nose-to-tail length of 1.6–2.7 m (5 ft 3 in – 8 ft 10 in). The male elks are bigger and weigh more than the females. On the head of an elk you can find antlers made of bone, which can grow at a rate of 2.5 centimeters (0.98 in) per day. While actively growing, a soft layer of highly vascularized skin known as velvet covers and protects them.

Behaviour

Elks are adaptive animals who live in herds. They graze on a variety of grasses, plants, and bark. This animal will eat in the morning and then they’ll hide in the woods to digest the food and gain energy. Around dusk they’ll return to eat again.

Reproduction At the start of The Amber dawn elks will start with their mating period. The male elks, also known as bulls, will start to separate themselves from the others and are going to look for female elks, also known as cows, to add to the harem. A bull’s harem is a group of cows that he is planning to mate with.

To attract the female elks the bull will dig out watery holes. Then he will lay down in this hole and urinate in them. By doing this the bull will make it easier for the cows to find him. Once he has the cows in his harem the male elk will be very protective over them.

Abilities

When an elk feels threatened it uses its horns to attack the threatening person. He does this by bucking the person with his antlers.This will do D3 damage.

Another attack an elk can do while feeling threatened is kicking. These kicks can be very powerful and will do a D4 damage.
