Introduction

Ent Kings are the lords of the forest, the main and oldest friends of the Great Trees and the greatest allies of nature against the corruption of the void or the spoil of the forest.

They all have unique personalities.

Some of them are recorded as peaceful and reasonable, others are extremely aggressive and wary.

All of them are mythical beings full of magic and history, whose age goes way further than civilized history.

Description

Ent Ancients vaguely resemble Entlings but they are larger, stronger and their presence inspire reverence and marvel.

Their body is reinforced by plates of solid wood, like armor, that shine with blue magical runes that glow with mythical power and absorb elemental magic.

They are huge, usually 5m tall, and their head is normally adorned with solid dark, dense wooden branches that resemble a crown.

Behaviour

Ent Ancients, or “Ent Kings” sometimes wander in some wild regions of Myln Arbor, where they make their walk checking the status of the forest.

Although their size is very large, nobody really knows where they spend most of the time. The main hypotheses are that they can merge and live inside the great trees and just come out of them when they feel like it.

You can tell Ent Kings have been in a place because they like to make rare flowers grow and bless leaves with their magic, making them glow with a golden light. Their behavior is usually peaceful although their temperament changes a lot, depending on their unique personality.

These very old creatures are not immortal beings, although they have a very strong regeneration and can regrow most part of their limbs and organs, if cut. They usually have a “royal court” made of entlings and ent branches that follow them, and with whom they entertain long conversations.

An Ancient Ent speaks common and any language of Eden. An ancient ent also takes a lot of time to reply and usually chooses to express himself with very short wise sentences and aphorisms.

In Combat

They like to organize attacks with minor entlings and guardians. They usually call for reinforcements and summon ent guards, before they go into battle, using their spells, and then use their branch attacks.

Abilities

Branch Flurry: An Ancient Ent melee attack deals 3d3 damage

Ent Immunities: Ents are immune to poisons, sleep and mind-effects.

Ancient Regeneration: Ancient Ents regenerate 2hp/ turn (counting the biomancy passive) and can regrow lost limbs and organs during their spent decades in Myln Arbor.

Blind Sight: Ancients can perceive anything that is in the forest, even if they’re blinded, just from the vibration of the terrain

Kor Storm: Ent Ancients are able to use the Geomancy magic to summon a “storm” of leaves. The leaves on the ground charge with Kor magic and static electricity, becoming as sharp as blades, actively trying to blind and damage the intruders in the large storm area. They stun and damage the enemies in a small area, dealing 2 damage to each of them. Ents are immune to this spell.

Archmage Power: Ancient Ents are level 10 biomancy natural spellcasters and can cast any biomancy spell, as per the magic rules, ignoring casting items and materials.

Ent lordship: Ent Kings can effectively mind control any other type of ent creature (even if they’re immune to mind control) whose intelligence is less than his, although he generally chooses not to, since ents naturally fight for them. In fight, they usually recall surrounding Ents that come in defense of their king.
