Introduction
A plant that grows in extremely cold and mountainous areas, including those with lots of snow and the barren tundra north of Eden. This rare plant blends in with the ice, meaning it can be difficult to find without being careful. The unique way that the plant reproduces and the specific conditions it must bloom means it cannot be domesticated or transplanted to warmer areas.
Description
The plant is bluish-white and doesn't survive very long outside of cold climates, at least in its natural form. When harvested, the plant will survive longer and be preserved if it doesn't spoil. Care must be taken when harvesting because the frail, ice-like leaves are brittle and shatter if squeezed too hard. The leaves sprout from the ground itself and can be plucked to harvest them if careful, similar to a sprig of sage or other herbs. The leaves can freeze small bits of water upon contact. It must be boiled in water until the ice melts off before being processed.
Usage
- Leaves
- These can be used to make a variety of medicinal tonics and salves, mostly with a cooling effect. This effect can help kill pain and reduce infection when made into a medicinal potion.
