Introduction

This herb springs from seed under fresh water and grows a long stalk to the surface, where it sprouts several pink lily pads. This plant can usually be found in freshwater lakes and the sources of large rivers in most temperate climates including the Heartlands, the Glade of Dragons, the river sources North of Aerial, and even in and around the river source near Mapledale. This plant can be domesticated as long as they’re planted in freshwater that isn't completely stagnant.

Description

The Waterwisp must be taken care of when harvested, as the thin, petal-like flowers can easily bruise if handled roughly. They have a silky texture to them and smell fresh, like most other flowers. The stalk is similar in texture to most vascular plants like celery and is similarly rigid, and the pink lily pads are thick and have a waxy coating to them, with the flower petals growing on top of them as they float on the water. The petals are tooth-shaped, sprout outwards from a central bulb, and are quite beautiful. However, the most important ingredient is the stalk because of the nutrients it pulls up from the bottom of the water, creating a solution that has a calming effect and can help people fall asleep. The solution that forms has to be boiled out of the stalk, similar to how sugar is created from the reeds of a sugar cane and then distilled into a potion that can then be drunk.

Usage

The plant can be used to create potions that help the user go to sleep and become tired, which usually isn't incredibly effective but can be very useful in certain circumstances.

  • Stalk
When the liquid inside is boiled into a potion, it can help the user fall asleep.
  • Seeds
When domesticating and growing more water wisps, the user can plant these seeds in fresh water.
