Introduction

To the far east of the Glade of Dragons dipping awfully close to the edge of the known world lies the final barrier between the civilized lands and the great mysterious beyond. The barrier is a massive stone mountain range named Eden’s Tail in the common tongue. It is a treacherous mountain range due to its steep climbs and snowy peaks, combined having manufactured the end of many climbers that dared to venture deep into the range. The only signs of civilization in these untamed lands is the Denur stronghold of Dar-Azur, a mighty fortress that used to be the only safe passage through the mountains. However, in modern times this once mighty fortress and passageway to the unknown has been fallen and abandoned, being nothing but a rotten memory of what once was.

Geography

Eden’s Tail is one of the longest mountain ranges on the continent, only coming in right after The Spine of Eden and the Great Barrier Mountains. The range is a branch of the Dzrathas Mountains, coming down in the east past the Elven city of Aerial, running all the way down parallel to the Giant’s Corridor towards the southern tip of Myln Arbor where it completes the barrier that shields the Elves of the Glade of Dragons from what lies beyond in the far east. The mountains themselves are steep and reach high into the skies, looking down on those below from the snowy peaks that top the range all the way through. Within the northern half of the range lies the before-mentioned Denur hold of Dar-Azur, a mighty now fallen hold, and corridor throughout the mountains that connect to the great underways of the Denur, a network of tunnels and caverns that connect the many holds on the continent together. The passageway that leads towards Dar-Azur has now become isolated and the connection is severed for any who would dare to enter the ancient hold from the depths below.

History

The peaks of Eden’s Tail are one of the youngest ranges that formed at the beginning of time, closing in the glade and containing the Elves within. For a long time since its formation, the lands remained untamed and untouched until the Denur managed to establish a hold in its underbelly. Dar-Azur for a long time stood as the only beacon of life within the bitter lands of the Tail, however during the events of Mor-Hormung, or the Great Collapse in the common tongue, the hold fell under mysterious circumstances, never to be restored again and leaving nothing but a rotten abandoned husk in its wake. In modern times the Tail remains resting at the edge of the known world, standing guard until the end of its time, keeping the glade shielded from what lies beyond.
