The giant spider belongs to the arthropods, which means that they are cold-blooded animals without a vertebra and external skeleton. Spiders have their body divided into several parts. This body is also equipped with multi-part legs. The giant spider's appearance is very similar to normal spiders’, but there are a number of differences. The giant spiders, as the name suggests, are much larger than the average spider:their body length is around 4m and the legs can have a wingspan of approximately 8m. They have eight of these legs, each 400 cm long. The first part is where the head is located and it is also called cephalothorax or front. The legs are attached to the front of the body. A giant spider has 2 jaws through which poison can be injected, which are connected to poison glands that produce and store the poison. The back part of a Giant Spider looks quite similar to a bag. That spiders have a thing for the number 8 is clear from the number of eyes, so in addition to the 8 legs, they also have a total of 8 eyes (4 on each side). The spider's body and legs are covered with hairs, which are often brown or black. This serves as a bit of a protective color. Although their size often makes it difficult to stay under the radar.

Description

The giant spider belongs to the arthropods, which means that they are cold-blooded animals without a vertebra and external skeleton. Spiders have their body divided into several parts. This body is also equipped with multi-part legs. The giant spider's appearance is very similar to normal spiders’, but there are a number of differences. The giant spiders, as the name suggests, are much larger than the average spider:their body length is around 4m and the legs can have a wingspan of approximately 8m. They have eight of these legs, each about 4m long.

Behavior

The giant spider mainly lives in locations as far away from humans as possible. For example, they often live in dark caves, which they only leave for food. It is also possible that you can encounter them in the jungle.

It is easy for the spider to hide between the large trees and dense vegetation. Where you won't easily find them is in places with a lot of ice and snow or lower temperatures, such as North Eden and Avalheim. Spiders collect food in a very special way. They do this by making spinning, which is a sticky substance that, among other things, is used to make spider rag. The spinning rag is used for many purposes, for example to catch their prey by sticking them Then they’ll wrap it for eating later. They also use their web to move forward, for example by shooting it. To wrap the prey, they first use their web to catch their prey, then they wrap the prey so that it cannot escape. Another thing they use their silk for is to make a cocoon:the spider lays eggs and then makes a cocoon, or a kind of egg sac, around the eggs to protect them.

Another special thing about these spiders is that they molt. Because the skeleton is external, their body cannot grow. Therefore molting occurs regularly.

Actions & Abilities

Bite

A Giant Spider can make a single poisonous melee bite attack/turn dealing 4 damage (see also Giant Spider Poison).

Spider web

A Giant Spider can trap unconscious or paralyzed prey by spinning its web. It does so as a full round action, after which the target will be imprisoned inside a cobweb cocoon. To break the web from the inside the target must do a dc 18 strength (although he’ll be unconscious or paralyzed). To break the web from the outside a total of 3 damage must be dealt. The web has -4 on defense rolls.

Climbing

The Giant spider can climb any surface thanks to its agility, but will have to roll more than 10 on an agility roll not to fall down after receiving damage.

Giant Spider Poison

The Giant spider poison can paralyze its prey. When the attack roll surpasses the defender’s defense roll by 3 or more, they’ll be poisoned once and temporarily lose 1 agility. Giant Spider Poison can stack and when agility drops to 0 the target will be paralyzed. The Poison stacks and the paralysis effect expire after one IC day.

Drops

The spider drops a small amount of poison enough to paralyze a small animal. This poison is strong enough to temporarily paralyze a large animal, if it's in bigger amounts. In addition, the spider also drops a reasonable amount of liquid spider.
