Sirens are aquatic predators who usually opt for gullible humanoid creatures as prey. There are many common misconceptions and misinterpretations of the sirens being beautiful creatures, having the top half of a human and the lower half of a fish, like a mermaid. Though it is not far from the truth, as sirens use their majestic, some would say hypnotising voices to create illusions to appear as such and draw in unfortunate sailors. Most peak at 2m long from top of the head to the tip of the fin, while some subspecies get as long as 10m. They have an almost glasslike face with sharp teeth on the upper part of their jaws. They have long webbed appendages and a long tail.  Sirens are normally found around the, fittingly named, Siren Islands, and around the rest of Eden’s Expanse. They may come in many colours that vary depending on the temperature of the water. Colder water sirens tend to have a darker blue tint to their scales while warmer water sirens are usually much lighter hues, a few scattered reports stating sightings of white sirens with the tip of the fins and arms a light blue, almost blending in with the water.

Sirens are known for their hostility towards the humanoids, generally luring them in with their hypnotising voices. They usually steer clear of the larger coasts, opting for smaller islands instead. With humanoid land creatures being their main food source, sirens sometimes make friends with larger predators such as the kraken, helping lure its next victims so they could feed off the remains. If not assisted by the others, the sirens would usually surround the ships they wish to target, as they usually swim in schools, and start singing, all in one voice in unison, hypnotising whoever is onboard to bring them over and into the water for them to feed on. Sirens don’t fight over food, rather, they share it to make sure everyone is fed.

Depending on the type of siren killed (cold or hot water) the scales could be used as extra plating for armour or as a stylish addon to the clothes. Warm water sirens tend to have softer, more flexible scales, while the ones living in colder climates have harder and thicker scales.

Luring unsuspecting prey with enchanting songs and charming calls, these fanciful creatures utilize their tantalizing voices to prevail in all their hunts. They are charlatans of an alluring tone, beautiful with magnificent scales like a blameless mermaid. Most of Eden does not expect any harm to hail from these creatures and can easily assume these beings as a legendary encounter or an elegant sight to behold, and even the most knowledgeable people can have their minds warped, tempted by their mystifying captivation. Description

These creatures are roughly 180cm tall and have an ectomorph body structure. They have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a fish, with the two portions connecting at the abdomen where scales and skin transform into one another. Sirens have long and lustrous hair that rides the tide’s rhythm, and a silky, smooth texture with a similar color variety to humans: Blonde, black, or brown. Their skin is polished like glass, glorious and unwrinkled, and its tone can range from light to dark with a blue tint. Another concealing factor is their fragrance, conjuring the fresh scent of citrus and sea floral. But the voice of a siren can attract all species. A dulcet tone fills the air with every note, comforting minds and setting them to a state of tranquility, albeit vulnerability.
