Introduction

The Entlings are the oldest inhabitants of Myln Arbor, and probably the oldest inhabitants of Eden, roaming almost everywhere when the Great Forests were used to cover most of the continent.

These Tree Spirits are relatively young, since they evolve with time in larger Ents, such as the Guardians.

Habitat

Mainly Myln Arbor

Description

The Entlings are wooden soldiers, usually about 150 cm tall. They have a humanoid shape and the magic that moves them is clearly visible for those with a keen eye.

Their bark is strong, dark and strengthened by fireproof moss that grows for self defense.

There are mainly two types of entlings: Ent warriors and Ent sorcerers.

The warrior's bark is usually thicker and a bit darker, while the sorcerers have glowing blue runes and openings in their bark, facilitating the absorption of the surrounding magic particles and the channeling of their spells.

Behaviour

These native soldiers of Myln Arbor usually patrol and defend holy ancient sites, ley lines and the most ancient trees.

They are usually friendly with the living, unless a source of fire or a menacing cutting weapon gets close to them or the old trees. In that case they become aggressive and may team up against the intruders.

The Great Old trees have naturally made these Ent soldiers grow in their surroundings to protect themselves from hostile attacks and safeguard the health of the forests. Entlings are extremely hostile to voidal entities and people that use voidal magic.

Warriors are armed with a sword and usually more aggressive and less sympathetic than Sorcerers, who are fewer and normally more curious about people of the forest. Ent sorcerers have a high intelligence and they can’t talk except telepathically with other sentient arboreal beings.

In Combat

In combat the Entling warriors try to get in melee range and attack with their sword. Ent sorcerers are always accompanied by warriors, and let them take the first line while they cast spells from behind.

Abilities

Ent Immunities: Ents are immune to poisons, sleep and mind-effects.

Biomancy Sorcerers (Sorcerers): Ents are born with an innate ability to control Biomancy magic and are therefore biomancy spellcasters.

Kor Tornado (Sorcerers): Ent Sorcerers are able to use the Geomancy magic to create “storms” of leaves. The leaves on the ground charge with Kor magic and actively try to blind the intruders in the whirlwind area, stunning and blinding their enemies in a small area. Ents are immune to this spell.

Drops

Ent Bark, Ent weapons.

They are sentient beings and sometimes craft or collect other items.
