Nymphs can appear in multiple different climates but are most often associated with the forest due to the abundance of pristine natural beauty in forests. They always appear in the form of a humanoid, young woman and are exceptionally beautiful and seductive. They can rarely be found in areas such as grottos and rivers, as well as mountain plateaus and beachside coves.

Behaviour

Nymphs will often reside deep in any natural habitat in the forest, Jungle, mountains or oceans, away from any prying eyes. Most commonly they will be found in beautiful rivers, mountain clearings, ocean grottos, or forested plateaus. They will usually sleep late at night and be active for the rest of the day, acting as the custodians of their habitats and keeping them nice and beautiful.

Nymphs will fiercely guard and protect areas of exceptional natural beauty (including those stated above) and usually regard all intruders with fear and uncertainty. They will usually use non-lethal or obstructive attacks in order to dissuade intruding on their ground any further unless the interloper(s) show they have ill-intent or use deadly attacks of their own, in which case the Nymph will bring about the true wrath of nature.

If someone approaches a sacred natural area that a Nymph happens to be guarding but has some sort of affinity with nature themselves, the Nymph will not be scared and hostile towards them but instead take a liking to them, even sometimes being overly friendly to a fellow protector of nature.

Abilities

These attacks will vary in type depending on the type of Nymph one is dealing with.

Physical Attacks

Vine Slash – Rock Slash – Water Slash (Depending on type of Nymph and environment.) The Nymph conjures the corresponding materials from nearby and uses them to perform melee attacks. These use the Strength stat and will inflict a guaranteed 2 damage for each successful attack. This move has 2 attacks per action, like a standard sword.

Vine Trip – Rock Hold – Aquatic Bind (Depending on environment.) The Nymph conjures the corresponding materials and uses them to ensnare people from up to 15 blocks away. Ensnared people will not be able to move until the Nymph lets them go. This attack uses Strength and only has 1 attack per action. The target MUST attempt to dodge using an Agility roll. If the target fails, they are ensnared, and if they succeed, they evade the attack. In addition: Targets Ensnared by this trap can be moved up to the attack’s maximum range of 15 blocks, and they can be let go by the nymph at any time.

Special Abilities

Call to Action

The Nymph will summon a creature from their habitat to defend them and drive away the attacker. If in the forest or the mountains, the creature summoned is a Bear. If near the ocean, the creature summoned is a Shark. If in the jungle, the creature summoned is a Giant Spider.

This can only be used once per fight and the Nymph cannot attack after summoning the creature until it is defeated, after which the combat proceeds as normal.

Drops

The Nymph drops no special loot. If a Nymph is killed, the surrounding area will suddenly seem a lot less pristine and beautiful until a new Nymph begins to guard it. Trees will wither, the water will stop sparkling and grow stagnant, etc.
