Introduction

Also called “Wights” , “Undead Crusaders” or “Draugr”, the erroneously so-called “Skeleton Lords” were powerful warriors, elves, dwarves and mostly men in life. Mercenaries, traitors and people corrupted by an irrepressible passion for power and money.

Those such as these, when they die in the darkest parts of Eden, can be tested by Voidal Titans who offer their dark and near-death souls a chance of eternal life.

The pact that they resign themselves to respect is a pact of death, destruction and complete renunciation of their humanity.

Those who are resurrected as Skeleton Lords are among the deadliest undead in Eden.

Habitat

Any place of Eden, Lilith

Description

Unlike normal skeletons, Skeleton Lords often wear heavy armor and are highly prepared for both melee and ranged combat.

Their new physical form does not allow them to have all the musculature necessary to be adequately accurate with a bow, which is why most use heavy crossbows in ranged combat.

One of their physical hallmarks is a sinister magical light that issues from the sockets of their skulls, said to be the result of the powerful necromancy magic that drives them.

Another characteristic of theirs is the presence of ancient purplish rune-like inscriptions on their bones, possibly resulting from the voidal corruption they received in ancient times.

The writing is indecipherable and probably derived from some ancient language of Eden or demonic dialect

Behaviour

Skeleton Lords have no honor or respect for human life whatsoever. They have no real goals and their greatest desire is the total destruction of life on Eden and the ultimate victory of their Void Rulers over mortal enemies of the material plane.

They most often inhabit the depths of the earth, catacombs and necropolises. They dislike sunlight and seldom march in sunlight unless a greater force compels them to.

Wights never shed their heavy armor and live a solitary life in dark corners where they celebrate silence and misanthropy.

In Combat

A Skeleton Lord has a great knowledge of combat tactics and will think as a skilled warrior. He knows perfectly how to ambush, which target looks weaker, and when it is better to retreat and save its forces.

Abilities

Swordmanship: The Skeleton Lord adds +2 to every roll with its sword, +4 when he has no shield.

Crossbow Mastery: The Skeleton Lord’s crossbow cannot be drawn by normal men with regular strength. It needs at least 15 strength to be used and the Skeleton Lord will always hit its targets if at a distance of 20m or less.

Voidal Armor: The Skeleton Lord reduces any damage he receives by 1 unless it’s carried with silver weapons or other materials specifically built to fight undead.

Knife throwing: The Skeleton Lord has 2-3 throwing knives, that he can throw instead of his movement action, dealing 3 damage
