Jolie “Elaine” Lovell was a four foot eleven, crimson red, chaotic good tiefling. Elaine was born in the year 1510 in the harsh deserts and moved to Mitrona when she was twenty-three years old. Since then, Elaine had shown great dignity in her nation. There are many titles the woman obtained over the years. Such as Head Medic, Lla’viltir, and most notably: Khari’cerr. She oversaw the proud warriors underneath the previous Khari’cerr. Elaine indulged herself in the Azari’cerr culture. She worshipped the same deity, wore the same clothes, and ate the same food out of her sheer admiration for the forest and its inhabitants. On the other hand, Elaine was still a de’nevir. She spoke Notre Voix fluently, wore heavy jewelry constantly, and sported her paint religiously.

== Characteristics ==
The public seemed to hold many different opinions of the de’nevir. Though one thing was never questioned, always consistent— her loyalty. Elaine was loyal. Not only to her nation but to the very few she considers a friend. Many could have called her cruel or vicious. Due to her unfriendly nature to outsiders and apathy towards many situations about humans and most other races. However, this is something the woman is incredibly proud of. Elaine saw fear as respect in many ways. As a result, she worked towards her goal with endless determination and refused to feel remorse over what she had to do to gain it. Do not let this cold exterior fool you, Elaine could often be seen in the tavern she owns. Making sly jokes, teasing others, smiling with sharp teeth. The de’nevir loved to be around her friends and the people who looked up to her. Her front can be debated. What can’t be debated is her perseverance and willpower to fight for her beloved family.

== Physical ==
The de’nevir stood to be four foot eleven, below average for her race. Her natural skin tone was quite sickly looking as it held no hue. Painting herself crimson red with her dark magenta hair, she brought herself a new look. Across her face were many freckles spread throughout her nose and cheeks. Below the bridge of her nose was a long and horizontal scar that Elaine felt quite proud of. This shows how she had managed to survive fight after fight. Her eyes held a mesmerizing yellow hue while her scleras were an almost burn orange. Her teeth were jagged and sharp, feeding into the woman’s sinister look. Elaine modeled many outfits. Her most notable one, however, is when she wore a simple off-white tunic with a leather corset over top of it. She wore a layered, dark green skirt accompanied by many gold chains and various other jewels. Her hairstyle had varied but Elaine prefers pigtails or her hair completely down.

== History ==

=== Early Life ===
Jolie Elaine Lovell was born in the outskirts of Anjyarr as the second oldest of four siblings. Elaine, at this time, strictly went by “Jolie”. She had grown up under both Anjyarr and De’nevir accustoms. Painting her skin was a must, but actively learning to follow most teachings the nation had to offer. Her upbringing was somewhat normal. The Lovell Household was far from poor as they lived comfortably, though Elaine’s curiosity began to grow on what life might be like outside of the desert. Her curious nature was heavily discouraged. She was intrigued by the books she constantly read about. To her, nations like Hadriana and Luminion were a distant fantasy land.

At the quick age of twelve, Elaine’s life was struck with tragedy. Her eldest brother, the one she was closest with, died in a senseless act of violence caused by strolling in the depths of night. The news had shattered the girl. His influence had played a significant role in her long-forgotten optimistic view of the world. During this grieving period for her and her family, Elaine’s father had been a guiding light for the young girl. She slowly found comfort in her own life. Until another tragedy occurred in the Lovell Household. After walking with Elaine on her journey, her father quickly fell ill himself. To then give his final breath on her fifteenth birthday. With a heavy heart, she alerted her family.

=== Running Away, the Nomad Life ===
The girl was stricken with grief. As her mother quickly moved on to marry a dark elf in Al-Jabrid, she fled during the night, leaving her three siblings for good. She had no time to regret this decision that changed her life. For the following ten or so years, Elaine lived on the streets of Eden. This was the first time in which she got to see Eden in all of its glory. From the ruins she came across, the beautiful and tall buildings, no sight was left unseen to the bright-eyed girl. It was not until later in her early twenties that she decided to stay in one spot for longer. There in the Lunburg tavern, she met a few others she could deem as close friends. Elaine’s life was a new adventure each day. The memories she created at Ceril’s Keep, Lunburg, and on the paths are memories that she’d never forget.

=== Settling In A New World ===
As Elaine reached twenty-four, her traveling days had to come to an end at some point. She knew this. As Elaine had met Faiir Chamaire in the visitor section of Luminion, she had led the young girl to the previous “Empire of Mitrona”. She was immediately hooked. Mitrona’s winding trails and fascinating greenery had left her mesmerized. This was something Elaine had to be part of. And as she learned of the Fall of Nous, she shook her head, forgetting all of it. As she wasn’t personally affected by it.

The woman quickly read about the culture of the Azari’cerr and the history of Mythanthar’s reign. The good, the bad, and the outstanding. Unfortunately, quickly after she was sworn into the oath of Mitrona, she realized how imperfect the nation seemed. Great tales of Mitrona’s remarkable reign fell flat. The young girl knew what to do– and quickly began to work. Here is where she picked up as many jobs as she could. No more was she the nomad that previous fifteen-year-old girl wanted her to be. She found a home. Friends to love her through thick and thin. Elaine began working under Shalia Chamaire for medical knowledge. And once Shalia gave her the clinic and passed away, her hard work only continued. Elaine hosted events each week as a tavern keeper, librarian, Tri’cilus, and medic. All in which she overworked herself, but made a name to be proud of.

Sea serpents consist of merely two parts, the head and the body. Its head is similar to that of a dragon with a triangular shape and protruding mouth with layers of sharp, carnivore teeth. A fierce gaze can be seen in the serpent’s eyes, both located behind the mouth. A lengthy, tentacle-like tongue sits within the mouth and is often seen extended outwards during a serpent’s roar. The body is directly connected to the head and elongates roughly 25 meters in a cylindrical shape. Near the end, it gradually narrows and eventually concludes at a single point, serving as a tail for the beast. Running down its body are many dense scales. They can range from a royal blue to a seaweed green color and are hardened for defense. However, extending down the underside of the serpent, on its belly, are softer and more flexible scales in a dark ivory color. The pliability assists them for digestive purposes, and they don’t have a color range, unlike their other scales. There is also a long, prickly fin that runs horizontally off its head and down its spine for balance and steering. The sheer size of this beast creates a looming atmosphere for all that may come in its path, but its most formidable aspect overall is the sea serpent’s roar. A cacophony of deep and menacing racket alongside a guttural groan, as if water was rushing down its throat and exasperating it. The commotion can reach eight kilometers from the serpent, and all sealife dwelling nearby won’t think twice about swimming away. The breath of a sea serpent bears another frightening quality. It reeks of a concoction of decaying meat and muscle with a salty, oceanic scent from all the marine life it had consumed. Ripped pieces of the serpent could be eaten, though its taste would resemble eating a normal snake, with a resilient and chewy texture and a gamey flavor.
As her hard work had been recognized for the promotion as the first Lla’viltir, and High Councilor, she quickly gained most people’s favor. Around this time, she had met a tall Azari’cerr after a heated spar. He had fascinated her in all senses. And shortly after, Elaine took the man on a hunting trip to find honey. This is where she would learn his name– Apollon. Something so simple, but a name she adored. Elaine was quick to begin a close relationship with Apollon. As she was getting to the age of settling down, he was a first pick for the woman. After a year or two of courting, she had given Apollon a task. For her hand in marriage, Apollon would need to prove himself worthy even further with a list of things to do. After he had done so with flying colors, they got engaged.

=== Elaine’s Death ===
== Behavior ==
The then Khari’cerr wanted nothing more than a child of her own. Someone to look at her with the same unconditional love. In the year 1544, the woman gave birth to Adriel-Elias Moulin-Lovell who had a twin but did not make it in delivery. A premature baby he already was. Being that Elaine was below average height, she was not made for childbirth. After the birth of her son, Elaine fell ill. She tried everything to stay afloat. Herbs, teas, exercises. But nothing had helped. The Khari’cerr was the first to accept her fate. She was going to die and there was nothing she could do about it.
Sea serpents do not travel in packs and are always found alone or with a mate. This is due to their hostile nature, ensuring no other beast traverses its habitat. Moreover, it is rare to see a serpent leave an area, and if you ever spot one, it will likely dwell in the same spot years from then. Serpents do not travel often and will typically keep to their own space unless their home is ruined or lacks food, in which case they will migrate to another portion of the sea, and potentially have to fight the singular serpent there for its expanse instead. Departing its home for a mate will only occur once every three years, and will merely include no more than two offspring. Since the sea serpent is a cold-blooded creature, it conserves energy much more easily and can go weeks or months without food, though it is not preferred by them. Pervasively, serpents will have a weekly cycle for hunts. They are aggressive eaters, feasting on anything that will fit in their mouths, which usually ends up being squids or large fish. Commonly, serpents will swim to the sunlight zone where fish are abundant and can be effortlessly picked off. This is also when serpents are most commonly spotted by people. When prey is discovered, it will disconcertingly circle them to learn its defense mechanism and decide when to strike. As the circle progressively gets smaller, the serpent may find itself head-to-tail, eventually utilizing its fin to steer at the prey and lunge with a swallowing bite. However, if a serpent meets one of its kind or another large predator, it will unleash a thunderous roar that deafens the sea. A tumultuous noise that shudders the waters and will, more often than not, scare the beast away. Above water, serpents also have an intriguing way of fending themselves and attacking travelers. It will begin by peeping its head above the surface and inspecting its surroundings for anything living. When ready, it will dive forth and bite. If it misses, or nothing is obstructing the ocean’s surface, it will continue the dive as it lunges deep into the ocean, leaving its body above water for an extra moment. It can also use its tail, once it finally reaches air, to swat down at the opponent again, effectively slapping them before it precedes in the water with the rest of its body. If a serpent prevails in all its combat, its lifespan can range up to ~250 years depending on its health.

She tried making her last years memorable. Something for her not to forget. Elaine laid down her axe and chose words instead. The Khari’cerr died peacefully in her bed for her husband, Apollon Lovell, to find her still. Elaine left him a widow and her children without a mother. Her final wish and action was passing down the crown to a true ‘Cerr, someone she’s been mentoring silently.

Northern serpents have a blue hue and dwell in the Glass Sea. Southern serpents are found in the Alban Ocean and contain a greener hue. They are widely spread throughout these seas and far apart from one another, residing at the bottom of the ocean. This makes it unfeasible to discover one by search, and it will remain a mystery when one appears. This typically happens during a hunt, when the serpent rises to the surface in search of fish and may cross sight of a person.

Elaine, much like Faiir, was seen as a motherly figure to some.
The serpent dives with a crushing bite. The serrated teeth jab before its head proceeds forth and past the opponent to turn around in preparation for another strike. (2D2+2). A serpent may choose to attack with its head if it is not hungry or can't accomplish the range for a bite. It will lunge just like a bite, but use the top of its head and stiff scales to scrape the opponent. (2D2+2). The serpent rises above the ocean surface just to dive back inside. Since Elaine’s paint was crimson red, she has earned the nicknames, “Cranberry” or “Rasberry” to some. Adding to this, Elaine had long since ditched her first name “Jolie”. Very few are allowed to call her this as it strikes a nerve.
